Trullo house in Puglia
Trulli in Puglia with Pool
Having lived in sunny Puglia and visited a variety of villas in scenic locations there, it is not easy choosing just one representative villa for my website. This holiday home does however incorporate many elements which are typical of the kind of places I like to recommend. A traditional ‘trullo house’ with its coned roof, a stylish modern extension and contemporary, moorish style give it a winning combination of authenticity and comfort. The outdoor space is furnished for al fresco living, complete with a fabulous swimming pool. The surrounding palm and olive trees make a wonderfully natural backdrop, so typical of Puglia.

Fantastic outdoor space
Set up for enjoying the warm summer weather, a lush, lawned garden boasts a private 12 metre swimming pool with wade in edge and steps. Relax in the outdoor shaded living area complete with a barbecue and food prep area.
Villas in Puglia are often a series of separate annexes which are not ideal for family groups with young children. This villa has a more practical set up with all three double bedrooms in the same building. One can be easily converted to a twin.
Set in the rolling hills of the Valle d’Itria, this villa is in a great location for exploring both the countryside, coast and hilltop villages. Gentle walks or cycling through ancient olive groves near the villa is one of life’s simple pleasures. Head to the coves and beaches on the Adriatic or Ionian for a day at the beach or stroll through the cobbled historic centres of Ostuni or Cisternino for a taste of southern dolce vita.
Walk to a restaurant
Villas in the countryside are rarely within walking distance of a restaurant but this one is. So you can leave the car behind and enjoy a taste of local cuisine.
For a special celebration or one-off meals, there is a chef on hand to cater for everyone so you can relax and enjoy the villa without having to lift a finger.
the owners of this house have skilfully furnished the trullo to create a welcoming, modern space whilst retaining its authentic rustic character. Smooth marble and modern lighting enhance the beauty of its exposed stone ceilings, whilst modern bathrooms and comfortable outdoor seating make more of a luxury villa.
Apart from linen and services of a housekeeper, a cook and food hamper can be arranged.
